🎮 Situation Overview
Scenario: Team trapped in spawn under heavy pressure.
Enemy Strategy: Tanks diving past choke points, Hanzo locking long sightlines, defenders overextending near attacker’s spawn.
Challenge: Breaking out of spawn feels overwhelming, but defenders’ overconfidence creates openings.
Goal: Survive the initial lock, exploit mistakes, and turn momentum into a full payload push.
🧑‍🔧 Key Tactics
1. 🎯 Recognize the Overextension
Tanks charging through side buildings or past natural chokes are too far forward.
Long-range DPS (Hanzo, Widow) camping spawn doors rely on risky angles without fallback cover.
These setups are fragile — if punished once, defenders face long runbacks.
2. 🔋 Exploit Ult Economy
Defenders farming spawn locks gain ult quickly, but they often spend it recklessly.
Attackers leaving spawn usually have fresh ultimates, making counter-pushes deadly.
Tip: Save one fight-winning ultimate (Nano, Coalescence, Kitsune, Molten Core, etc.) to break out decisively.
3. 🗺️ Use Alternate Routes
Maps like Shambali Monastery provide side exits and flank paths.
Tanks can rotate through alternate doors to split enemy attention.
DPS can use cover to force defenders to reposition.
Splitting pressure dilutes the lock and opens space for the payload.
4. ⏱️ Play Respawn Advantage
Once attackers secure 1–2 picks, push immediately — don’t regroup.
Overextending defenders have long spawn runbacks, while attackers spawn right behind the fight.
Attrition flips: every trade favors attackers, accelerating the collapse.
5. 🧠Manage Morale
Defenders often tilt after losing a spawn lock.
Their mindset shifts from “we’re crushing them” to “why are we suddenly dying?”
Attackers only need one clean breakout to build momentum through multiple checkpoints.
🏅 Key Principle
Spawn locks look dominant but are inherently brittle.
When defenders overcommit to the choke, they have no fallback layers once the line breaks. With patience, ult coordination, and awareness of overextensions, attackers can flip the script from trapped in spawn to steamrolling the payload in a single push.
