1. Understanding Hanamura’s Layout
Choke Points: Hanamura’s first choke (the main gate) is notoriously difficult to push through. Enemy defenses often include shield tanks and heroes with turret-like setups (e.g., Torbjörn or Bastion).
High Ground & Flanks: After the first choke, there are multiple flanking options—especially through the upper right window (from the attacker’s perspective), or the left side’s mini-room. Zenyatta’s slow movement means you generally won’t be leading the flanks, but you should know how your team might approach these routes.
2. Zenyatta’s Role on Attack
Orb of Harmony
Always keep this on a damage-taking ally, typically the main tank or a flanker who’s about to engage.
If your team is running a dive hero (Genji, Tracer, Winston), placing Orb of Harmony on them as they jump in is crucial to keep them alive.
Orb of Discord
Prioritize enemy tanks or key defenders on high ground.
If an enemy squishy is out of position, quickly swap Discord to them—Zenyatta’s fast weapon or your team’s focus can secure quick picks.
Constantly scan the battlefield and switch your Discord to whichever enemy is most vulnerable or central to the enemy’s defense.
Transcendence (Ultimate)
Use it reactively to counter big enemy ultimates (e.g., Junkrat’s Riptire, Dragon Blade, Graviton Surge + follow-ups) or to sustain a push through the choke.
Sometimes it’s needed aggressively to enable your team to push onto the point uncontested by healing through moderate damage.
