🎯 Core Idea
You're not just ulting for damage — you're predicting movement and controlling space. Your goal: melt the enemy team before they can react, by spraying molten lava into their only options for escape or survival.
🧠 Step 1: Know Where They’ll Be
🔍 Common Trapped Scenarios:
Choke Points: Defenders coming out of spawn or attacking through tight corridors.
Payload Pressure: Enemies are grouped on cart and have to stay or lose the fight.
Control Point Overtime: They must touch the point — lava it.
Narrow Escapes: When enemies retreat through one path (like tunnels or alleys).
Post-Ult Chaos: Right after enemies use Zarya, Sigma, or Orisa ult — you cover where they land or are pulled.
💡 Think like a hunter: Where must they go? Where can’t they afford to stand?
🔥 Step 2: Ult Spread Pattern – The Trap Spray
Don’t just dump lava randomly. Spread it with intention to:
Cut off exits
Cover corners they’ll hug
Punish diving supports or tanks
Zone high ground and low ground simultaneously
🌀 Basic Spray Technique:
Aim down a lane or entrance.
Fire in an arc pattern, layering lava in a fan shape.
Lead your shots where they're running toward, not where they are.
💣 Use up to 10 blobs — don’t rush them out at once. Sustain pressure over a few seconds.
🛑 Step 3: Lockdown Zones — Where to Ult for Full Team Wipes
Here are some killer lava zones:
King’s Row (Defending 2nd):
Lava both sides of the cart in the corridor — no escape.
Eichenwalde Castle:
Lava the narrow bridge or last choke before final point.
Havana (1st point, attacking):
Lava the backline retreat path behind the gas station or inside the building.
Nepal Shrine (Control Point):
Cover the stair entrances + center of point — they’re boxed in.
Dorado (Defending 2nd):
If they’re on payload under the arch, lava both behind and ahead — nowhere to go.
🧨 Step 4: Combo with Teammates
Graviton Surge (Zarya): Drop all lava into it. Insta-kill.
Orisa Pull or Ult: Cover landing zones.
Rein Shatter: While they’re down, lava them.
Mei Blizzard: Slow = death.
⏳ Step 5: Time is Your Weapon
Use ult when:
Overtime forces enemies to stand still or clump.
They just used mobility cooldowns (e.g., Kiriko TP, Reaper Wraith).
They're already half-health from a lost team fight.
🎯 Catch them while they’re weak, trapped, or too desperate to leave.
💡 Pro Tips:
Aim lava slightly behind running enemies — they backpedal or hesitate.
You can cancel reload animation by popping ult.
Use high ground to rain lava below, denying large areas.
🧪 Example Play:
Enemy team is stalling on the payload in overtime. You flank from high ground. They're grouped with no mobility left. You drop molten core in a V shape: behind them, around the payload, cutting off both forward and backward movement.
Result? They panic, try to escape, but there’s lava on all sides. Team wipe.
🛠️ TL;DR: Torb Ult = Trap Card
Know where enemies have to go.
Spray lava to cut off movement and force panic.
Combine with slows, pulls, or CC for guaranteed wipes.
Don’t just ult on them — ult around them.
