When a team’s holding the point at 85-99%, they start thinking: “We got this in the bag. Let’s just keep pressure up.” That mindset leads to: Chasing kills too far (like spawn-side fights). Ignoring cooldowns/ults timing. Breaking formation and spreading out. Taking bad trades just because they're "ahead." Basically: confidence turns into ego, and they throw discipline out the window. 🚪 2. Spawn Pushes Are a Double-Edged Sword Pushing close to enemy spawn feels dominant, but it’s risky AF: You’re far from the objective, so if you lose that fight, you have a long way back. Enemies respawn closer than you now—you lose numbers fast. If they regroup tight with ults (which your team likely did), the spawn-pushers get steamrolled and can't recontest. So what happens? They die near spawn → You flip point → They’re scrambling → GG 💥 3. Snowball Mechanics Work Both Ways Once they lost control: Your team likely had ults banked from earlier fights. You got position control, high ground, or choke points. Their confidence cracks and players stop communicating or even leave. One loss spirals into five. Momentum in Overwatch is like a snowball—you either ride it or get run over by it. 🧠 Final Thought: “They Were Fighting to Win, Then to Not Lose” Once they lost that round they had nearly won, the shift becomes mental: From “we’re winning” → “we can’t let them win” → “oh no, it’s happening”. Your team just stayed calm, hit them with the comeback, and the collapse wrote itself.
