Hanzo player can realistically go entirely deathless in an Overwatch 2 match—particularly on a map like King’s Row—based on common in‐game scenarios and what the scoreboard suggests:
1. Strong, Safe Positioning
Hanzo excels at mid‐to‐long range, and King’s Row has numerous high‐ground perches, ledges, and tight choke angles. A Hanzo who stays perched above the choke, behind corners, or near cover can deal massive damage while minimizing exposure.
High Ground Advantage: Good Hanzo players often hold rooftops or balconies, forcing enemies to look up and invest resources (like mobility cooldowns) just to challenge them.
Rapid Relocation: Hanzo’s wall‐climb and Lunge allow quick repositioning. Anytime the Blue team tried to push him, he could shift to a different high ground.
2. Effective Peel From Teammates
A big part of “not dying” is having a team that helps you survive:
Tank Disruption: The Red tank’s high damage and mitigation (ZTMY with 10,740 dmg and 7,919 mitigation) implies they were pressuring the frontline, making it tougher for Blue’s flankers or dive heroes to slip by and contest Hanzo.
Support Pocket & Utility: With two strong supports behind him—CITRUS (15,062 healing) and RIPEM2PCS (8,614 healing, plus 522 mitigation from abilities like Baptiste’s Immortality Field or Kiriko’s Suzu)—Hanzo likely got immediate heals or saving abilities if he ever took damage.
If Blue didn’t coordinate their dive or flanks, they couldn’t effectively punish him.
3. Map Flow and Choke Points
King’s Row is famous for its tight chokes, especially at the archway leading to Point A and along the streets near the bookstore. A well‐positioned sniper can control these lanes easily:
Choke Control: While the tank holds the arch or the narrow streets, Hanzo can safely take shots from behind or above.
Minimal Vulnerable Angles: Because the map is so linear in parts, the sniper’s angles to watch are predictable, so a player can hold them methodically without being easily flanked from behind.
4. Lack of Dive or Sufficient Threat
One of the simplest explanations for a zero‐death Hanzo is that the enemy team never pressed him enough:
No Dedicated Flanker: If the Blue team lacked heroes like Genji, Tracer, Sombra, Winston, or D.Va—and nobody was challenging the sniper—Hanzo can remain uncontested.
Over‐Committed to Frontline: The scoreboard shows Blue using multiple high‐mitigation heroes, suggesting they might have been brawling in the front rather than diving the backline. Hanzo thrives when he’s left alone in a back angle.
5. Hanzo’s Burst and One‐Shot Potential
Hanzo’s damage can quickly eliminate squishy enemies—especially if they peek the wrong angle. That also means enemies who try to rush him can die before closing the gap, especially if he lands a well‐placed Storm Arrow volley or a headshot.
Instant Kill Pressure: If Blue’s supports or DPS tried to peek from mid‐range, a single headshot arrow could end them—discouraging repeated attempts to jump onto him without a coordinated push.
